Do you like the Google Maps traffic feature as
much as we do? We bet you do! We’ve never met anyone who likes being stuck in
traffic. BMW offers TMC service (radio frequencies) and we can enable it in
your car as long as BMW offers this service in your country by BMW coding
service.P.S. This feature doesn't work in Australia and Canada. So, before
choosing this option, please, make sure that BMW supports the TMC service in
your country.Some BMW Navigation units don’t come standard with the Traffic
Message Channel enabled, which is a pity because it's one of the best
features for BMW iDrive navigation and makes up for the cumbersome GPS user
experience. Below is an outline of what adding the traffic notification code
does for your navigation unit. Please note that if your car does not have
this option enabled, the “traffic info” menu will not be listed within “Info
Sources”. Enabling the traffic notification enables the “Traffic Info” menu
to show up in iDrive:The Traffic Info option receives traffic
information from FM radio waves and updates whenever there is a message
updated by the TMC system.We have found the updates to be very accurate and
provide the option of providing a detour if congestion is found on the route
entered in the navigation unit when used for turn-by-turn directions.
